Who can do gymnastics without food?

In the package we have already included one meal (lunch or dinner) per day, but we have also advised everyone that they should order the second meal every day. The serving of the meals will take place in the center. This will make it really efficient for the participants, and the serving hours will make it possible to enjoy both meals even though you are having rehearsals or taking part in the contest.

The meals will be prepared in ready made portions so as to be easy to deliver, and you can either enjoy your meal somewhere in the Center, or you can take it back to your cabin. Hopefully you can enjoy the dinner outside in the beautiful summer weather!

The meals will be served according to the menu listed below.  You will have to notify the LOC during your definitive registration whether you would like the ordinary menu or the vegetarian menu. You must also inform the LOC about any allergies. All this information has to be put into the Gymnaplana. All meals will be delivered according to the individual orders regarding allergies and vegetarian.

All meals will be served with ice water.

Det oppdaterte dokumentet finnes her.

  4. In December, we have the darkest time of the year. Luckily, we have Christmas lights!
  5. In November and December friends and families comes together for Christmas party. We call it julebord or juletrefest. We walk around the Christmas tree, singing Christmas songs and eat Christmas food, and enjoy life.
  6. Some of the preparations for Christmas is baking seven varieties of cookies: PEPPEKAKER, SERINAKAER, KRUMKAKE, to just name a few.
  7. While the rest of the world celebrate Christmas Day, we in Scandinavian celebrate Christmas on 24th of December, Christmas Eve
  8. Most of the Norwegians eats RIBBE (pig), PINNEKJØTT (lamb) or LUTEFISK (fish) at the Christmas Eve.
  9. In days after Christmas Eve it´s a tradition that children dress up in crazy costumes and walk in the neighborhood and sings Christmas songs. In return, they get candy.
  10. The Norwegian word for Santa Claus is JULENISSE.
  11. On Christmas Eve, we give the Santa Claus JULEGRØT: rice porridge with sugar, cinnamon and butter.
  12. In Bergen, a Norwegian city at the west coast, we´ll find the world largest city – built in gingerbread. This year they celebrate 25th anniversary.

So, how many Norwegian words do you now know?!

NEWSLETTER 4 – WORLD GYM FOR LIFE CHALLENGE 2017

It’s the third and last week of our Instagram Christmas Challenge, and our countdown towards Christmas, which in Norway is celebrated with great food and presents under the tree in the evening of December 24th.

We think it’s time for you to start learning some Norwegian words, so to make sure you both learn something useful for gymnastics, and for the time of year, we’ll start with “Hjul” and “Jul”! As we don’t pronounce the h, they both sound the same, which just makes it even better!

“Hjul” is the Norwegian word for cartwheel (and we also use this for any kind of wheels, but for now, lets stick to cartwheels). Then we have “Jul” which means Christmas! So for the last Instagram Christmas Challenge, we want your photos or videos with either hjul or jul, or maybe both! You choose!

From 16th until 22nd of December you should post your pictures of hjul or jul to be in the run for a set of the official World Gym for Life Challenge 2017 clothes AND a ticket to the gala!
